WALCOT YARD

Loosely based on Bescot Yard post 1990. You will see a large variety of rolling stock running on this Modern Image layout; ranging from a pick-up freight, through local DMU services, to diverted West Coast Electrics.

The main features of this layout are the Overhead Catenery, Large Freight Yards and the Motorway forming the backdrop. Walcot Yard has many interesting aspects with most buildings being scratch-built using the actual structures at Bescot as a basis

Operation

The layout can be run with two operators but normally three are required to allow some respite and stock to be rotated.

Dimensions

The layout is approx 18 feet by 7 feet with the main running area being some 3 feet deep. There are seven interlocking baseboards supported by 'H' frame legs. Wiring, consisting some 1000m, took some 150 man hours to complete!

Rolling Stock

You will see a huge variety of rolling stock running on both layouts, some R-T-R but a majority of ISM Wagon/DMU/Locomotive kits and Resprayed Locomotives.

EXHIBITIONS

Walcot Yard is open for invitations, we charge reasonable expenses, this will cover fuel/accomodation for 2-3 operators.
